title about

Nazareth Catholic Primary School is a two streamed Catholic Parish School, located in the centre of Shellharbour City. It is one of two Catholic systemic primary schools in the All Saints Parish of Shellharbour City, part of the Diocese of Wollongong and administered by the Wollongong Education Office (CEO).
The school caters for students in years K-6 and has a current enrolment of over 400 students.

We are also one of the few Wollongong Diocesan School's to have a Centre for Learning which caters for children who have diagnosed learning needs.

Nazareth is a learning community that strives to develop the whole person so as to find God in all things. We embrace the spiritual tradition of St Ignatius of Loyola and strives in partnership with Parish, parents and wider community, to reach our Vision by promoting the total development of each individual/student.

In accordance with the structure of the NSW Curriculum and reflective of the philosophy of learning at Nazareth, classes are based on Stages of Learning. A Stage based learning community can lead to Multi-Age calsses where students are drawn from two or more age levels to form one class.

Multi-Age classes are a response to a developmental approach to teaching and learning.

This developmental approach groups students according to educational, social and developmental needs rather than just age or year level. Emerging research indicates that Multi-Age grouping, when implemented well, provides both educational and social benefits.
